At the foot of Montjuïc Mountain lies CaixaForum, a social, cultural, and educational center of over 12,000m² designed by modernist architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Casaramona. Today, CaixaForum hosts exhibitions and cultural activities.
The center has 5 exhibition halls featuring ancient, modern, and contemporary art, and it organizes various activities (cinema, music, conferences, literature and thought cycles, etc.), as well as educational programs for schools and families. If you step into the lobby, you can admire two artworks: the mural created specifically for the new center by artist Sol LeWitt and the neon cloud crafted by Lucio Fontana for the Milan Triennale in 1953.
